The most attractive thing about LED lighting is that the LED bulbs are available in a wide variety of colours, making LED lighting fun and funky, suitable for stage and club lighting. White LED lighting is also available however. White LED lighting provides pure white light, which is very long life (saving you money). White LED lighting is the future. Some of the earliest enthusiasts and developers of white LED lighting were cavers, who developed the white LED lights as an alternative to tungsten filament lamps. In the not so distant future, however, white LED lamps should be in common usage in the home and in commercial environments.
The LED light fixtures are also shock and vibration resistant. LED lights do not have to be the tiny red or yellow bulbs that many people associate with the term 'LED lighting'. White LED lighting is available in the form of normal, full sized light bulbs. There are many different types of bulb that can be found in the form of a white LED light, including LED home lighting, LED stage lighting systems and low voltage LED lighting. Border lighting, traditionally dominated by neon lights, is one of the areas where LED lighting is set to become dominant. One of the main advantages of LED border lighting is that the tubes which are used to form the border are coloured even when switched off, creating a striking look even in daylight. Neon border lights, however, are only coloured at night. LED border lighting doesn't lose brightness in cold weather, and LED border lighting gives a very clean, smooth line. The fact that LED border lights are vibration proof makes them ideal for use in fairgrounds and theme parks.
LED lighting products are ideal for use in the home because the light provided by LED home lighting is pure and consistent, the bulbs of LED home lights can last for tens of thousands of hours, and they do not give off any annoying flicker (unlike fluorescents). The advent of the super-bright LED lighting products has meant that LED bulbs can be used in many home lights, for example LED desk lights and LED reading lights. The power of the light provided means LED home lighting products are better for your eyes.
Large scale LED lighting systems are becoming increasingly common, due to the efficiency of LED lighting systems and the small size of the LED bulbs. Display lighting systems especially are making use of innovative LED technology. LED lighting systems for stage are increasingly common, although development is being slowed by disputes over patenting colour-mixing ideas. Despite this, several LED stage lighting system products have been released which take advantage of mixing different colours of light - like paint - to create different atmospheres in theatres or at concerts.
LED lighting is excellent for 'do-it-yourself' lighting. Custom LED lighting is widely available as LED lighting is such a new and versatile field. You can often choose the length and colour of your LED bar, and add different flash options and adapters. This custom LED lighting means that you can get LED lighting to suit everybody's LED lighting needs, whatever use they are being put to. LED strip lights or bar lights can be used effectively for lighting cabinets, for example. LED cabinet lighting is useful because the bright LED light allows you to see into the darkest corners of your cupboard or cabinet. Another use for LED lighting is LED rope lighting. LED rope lighting consists of a row of LED's inside a flexible plastic tube. Led rope lights can be draped and bent in all directions making LED rope lights truly useful for custom LED lighting displays (like at Christmas).
